Animation Broadcasting

Broadcasting your animations with Maya or MotionBuilder is a simple and quick process. This is a list of essential steps in broadcasting, to edit settings and working with Prelink please refer to the documentation provided on the Lightcraft Technology website.

Hardware Required:

  • Previzion System
  • Stand-alone Computer
  • Connection to same network as Previzion
  • Prelink Dongle

Software Required:

  1. Autodesk Maya 2011
  2. Autodesk MotionBuilder 2010 or 2011
  3. Maya or MotionBuilder Prelink


Setup In Maya
  1. Install Prelink
  2. Turn Prelink Plug-in
  3. Create Prelink Node
  4. Add all joints to Prelink object set
  5. Set FPS to camera speed
Setup In MotionBuilder
  1. Install Prelink for MotionBuilder 2010 or 2011
  2. Drop Prelink plug-in into Asset Browser
  3. Move joints and transforms into Prelink model list
  4. Set Export FPS to camera speed
  5. Put IPV4 into Prelink Network Configuration
  6. Click Online to broadcast
Broadcast Animation
  1. Load FBX into Previzion
  2. Find IPV4 Address for Previzion (Go to the System tab and click the About button)
  3. Put IPV4 into Prelink interface
  4. Verify Prelink is online with Previzion
  5. Play animation
