We Speak SMPTE.

Standard Practice

Previzion supports most SMPTE standard HDSDI signals, and its programmable hardware based video interface enables future formats to be handled easily, including those requiring pulldown removal.

4:4:4 Dual Link Capable (Q3 2009)

Previzion presently reads two simultaneous HDSDI 4:2:2 live video feeds, sending one feed to the keyer and the second feed to background textures designated as live feeds with the “live_” prefix. Previzion’s powerful keyer can achieve very high quality with a 4:2:2 data stream.

However, many productions are moving to a dual link, 4:4:4 RGB workflow with logarithmic encoding of the exposure in order to retain the full data range generated by modern electronic sensors. This signal must be properly decoded into RGB space for keying, color correction, and compositing. Previzion’s programmable hardware based video pipeline makes it straightforward to add a custom log to linear conversion stage for each flavor of logarithmic encoding (Panalog, S-Log, D-Log, etc.)

Think Sync

Previzion uses standard HDSDI digital formats for all video input and output, and SMPTE standard analog tri-level sync signals to drive genlock of the various tracking systems. In this way, sync is preserved throughout the pipeline, and the virtual camera stays locked to the physical camera moves.
