Data In Motion.

Every Frame, Every Time

Every reference on VFX production underscores the importance of recording the various camera parameters needed to match a shot properly, and every production finds itself pressed for time and prone to forget this step. Previzion records the complete spectrum of camera information needed to match CG imagery into a live action shot – camera position and orientation, lens focal length, focus distance, and breathing, sensor size, and even subject distance are all recorded for each frame and matched to the incoming timecode embedded in the HDSDI video signal.

Data Your Way

Previzion records takes into a Previzion-specific version of the Collada file format. From this format, we provide batch-process capable command line and GUI tools to convert selected portions of the take data into multiple formats. The Maya ASCII file format is a standard format that can be read directly by most compositing tools, including After Effects, Shake, Fusion, and Combustion. For unusual shots that may require post tracking, such as shots with very visible 2D/3D seams, the command line tools generate text files that can be directly read into Boujou 4.1 using the Lua scripting capability of Boujou.
